# Keep closers in conversations, not in ringtone.

Firetone's outbound engine decides who to call and when, keeps agents talking rather than waiting, and puts the objection response on screen while the prospect is still speaking.

## Talk time is the only input a sales floor really controls

Conversion is mostly your proposition, pricing and market. A dialer moves none of those. It moves qualified conversations per agent hour, which on most floors is far below what the headcount implies.

The reasons are unglamorous. Agents wait through ring time. They work the list top to bottom. They type notes between calls. Firetone attacks all three.

## What the sales floor gets

### AI-paced dialing

The pacing ratio adjusts call by call on live answer rates, drop-rate limits and wrap times rather than a fixed setting.

### Lead and risk scoring

Records worth a senior agent are routed to one, rather than being dealt out in list order.

### Best time to call

Per-contact reachability windows re-order tomorrow's list instead of grinding it top to bottom.

### Real-time objection handling

Live transcription surfaces the next-best offer and the response to the objection the prospect just raised.

### Branching scripts

Scripts follow the conversation, with mandatory fields per outcome so a disposition carries its detail.

### Automatic CRM write-back

Disposition, recording link, transcript, summary and follow-up task pushed to the record without typing.

### Dynamic caller ID

A number appropriate to the destination region, which measurably improves the chance of a pickup.

### Blended capacity

Move seats to inbound when campaign response arrives, without moving them between systems.

## Where the time actually goes back

### 01. Before the call: order the list

Scoring every record before it is dialed means the engine spends its lines where somebody is likely to answer.

### 02. During the ring: remove the wait

Predictive pacing places calls ahead of agent availability, and answering-machine detection means a voicemail greeting is never handed to a person.

### 03. During the call: reduce the thinking

The record is already open, the script is loaded.

### 04. After the call: remove the admin

Summary, disposition, recording and follow-up task are written to the CRM automatically, which is where a surprising share of an agent's day usually goes.

## A caution about occupancy as a target

Occupancy is the usual measure of a dialer, and it is easy to improve in ways that make the operation worse.

Raise the pacing ratio and abandoned calls rise with it. Cut wrap time and the next conversation suffers. The number worth optimising is qualified conversations per agent hour.

## Typical configuration for a sales campaign

- Predictive mode for volume lists, preview mode for high-value accounts
- Answer-rate prediction and best-time-to-call enabled on the full book
- Lead scoring routing top-decile records to senior agents
- Drop-rate ceiling set to your regulatory limit and enforced continuously
- Answering-machine detection with voicemail drop on the second attempt
- Dynamic caller ID matched to destination region

## Consent applies to sales calls too

Suppression and consent are checked at dial time on every campaign, sales included. Dynamic caller ID picks a number appropriate to the region — it is not a mechanism for evading call filtering.

## Outbound sales questions

### How much does predictive dialing actually improve talk time?

The honest answer is that it depends almost entirely on your list quality and your current setup, and any vendor quoting a single number is quoting a best case. The mechanism is straightforward: predictive pacing removes ring time and voicemail greetings from the agent's day, and on a floor currently dialing manually that is a large fraction of it.

### Which dialing mode should a sales campaign use?

Predictive for volume lists where the conversation is broadly similar each time and the cost of an agent waiting is the dominant problem. Preview for high-value accounts where the agent needs to read history before speaking, and where a worse opening costs more than the seconds saved.

### How does lead scoring decide what a senior agent gets?

Records are scored on the probability of a live answer and on lead and risk indicators drawn from history and campaign context, then routing rules you define send the top segment to agents with the matching skill. Every score lists the factors behind it, so the routing can be inspected and adjusted rather than trusted blindly.

### Will agents still have to write call notes?

Much less. The summary, disposition, recording link and transcript are written to the CRM record automatically, along with any follow-up task the disposition implies.
